PREVENTATIVE CARE (Examinations
and Cleanings)
Our office and the
ADA recommend a
routine dental
examination and
cleaning twice a
year. We
recommend a child’s
first dental visit
at age 3. It is
never too early or
too late to start!
At each routine checkup/cleaning
appointment your
hygienist will
perform a thorough
examination of your
teeth, mouth and
supporting
structures. A
routine dental
cleaning involves
the gentle removal
of any plaque
buildups that
accumulate on the
surface of the teeth
and any buildups
that may be present
below the surface of
the gum line.
A fluoride polish is
used to finish.
Our hygienists are
trained to recognize
and treat early
forms of gum
disease. They are
also trained to
recognize and treat
more advanced forms
of gum disease, if
necessary. The
health of your gums
and the supporting
bone is very
important to
maintaining a
healthy and
beautiful smile.
With proper home care and great
dental care your
teeth should give
you a lifetime of
smiles!
Sealants
Sealants are a very
thin tooth colored
bonding material
that is applied to
the grooves of
healthy teeth. This
thin layer of
bonding
mechanically keeps
food from sticking
into the grooves of
healthy teeth which
helps prevent tooth
decay. This quick
and comfortable
procedure is most
commonly done on
children’s
permanent teeth as
soon as the molars
erupt. Sealants can
be placed patients
of any age.
Sealants usually
last years before
any reapplication is
needed.
Restorative
Dentistry
Restorative
dentistry restores
form, function and
strength to teeth,
bone and gums,
allowing patients to
use their mouth
without pain or
discomfort. It
includes filling
cavities, dentures
and partials,
implants, crowns,
veneers and root
canal therapy. We
use advanced dental
technology to
perform restorative
dentistry.
Fillings
Advancements in
technology have
provided many
outstanding options
to restore a tooth
that has been
damaged by decay,
or fracture. The
method of
restoration will be
usually be dictated
by each specific
situation. We offer
the traditional
silver and gold
fillings, as well as
several different
types of white
filling materials.
The white filling
materials are
matched to your
specific tooth shade
and allow us to
achieve beautiful
cosmetic results.
We will be happy to
explain all of your
options, if a
filling becomes
necessary.
Crowns
Occasionally a tooth
will need a more
advanced method of
restoration, such as
a crown. A
Crown can be used to
protect and
strengthen a tooth
that has been
weakened by decay.
A Crown is a custom
made protective
shell that fits
over the existing
tooth which has been
shaped specifically
to receive it. Your
new crown will
restore your tooth
to its original
shape, size and
color and function.
Advancements in
technology have
provided us with
many choices of
materials. Our
office offers
traditional gold
crowns, and
porcelain fused to
gold or porcelain
fused to metal
crowns. We also
offer many different
types of tooth
colored porcelain
crowns. These crowns
are made to custom
specifications so
that your new crown
perfectly matches
your existing teeth,
for a beautiful and
natural smile. These
crowns can also be
used to cover
discolored, broken,
unevenly spaced or
cosmetically
compromised teeth to
create a new and
better smile!
Bridges
Bridges are crowns
(porcelain or
porcelain to metal
shells), which are
fused together and
bonded onto your
teeth, that are used
to replace a missing
tooth. If you are
missing one , or
multiple teeth, a
bridge is a great
way to fill in the
spaces and restore
your chewing
function. Often with
people who are
missing one or
several teeth, there
may be multiple
treatment
alternatives. We
will be happy to
discuss all of your
treatment options so
that you can pick
the one that is the
best solution for
your specific
situation.
Root Canals (Endodontics)
Occasionally the
nerve of a tooth
will become injured
due to decay or
trauma. Root canal
therapy allows the
tooth to be saved by
removing the
injured nerve of the
tooth. Advancements
in technology have
made root canal
therapy comfortable
and reliable.
During this
treatment, which may
take more than one
visit, the nerve of
the tooth is removed
and replaced with a
filling material.
Root canal therapy
is a great
procedure that
allows you to
repair an injured
tooth. With proper
restoration and
care, a tooth that
has had root canal
therapy can last a
lifetime. If you
have a painful or
sensitive tooth,
the doctors will
perform a series of
tests to determine
the nature of the
problem. In most
instances, the
problem can be
addressed without
the need for root
canal therapy.
However, if it is
determined that
root canal therapy
is indicated, be
assured that the
newest technology
helps us to provide
a valuable and
comfortable
experience.
SMILE Makeover
A smile makeover
changes a crooked,
crowded, gappy,
chipped or stained
smile into an
aesthetic,
breathtaking smile.
Your smile is
transformed using
techniques such as
bleaching, porcelain
veneers or porcelain
crowns. An
all-porcelain veneer
or crown, provided
by a skilled
clinician, will look
beautiful for
decades. A detailed
exam in our office
will enable us to
provide you with
individualized
treatment options to
help you determine
which treatment
option is best for
you.
Your smile is one of
the first things
that people notice
about you. Our
goal is to provide
each of our patients
with a beautifully
natural and
functional smile.
For some lucky
patients routine
cleanings are all
that is needed to
maintain their
healthy smile.
In most cases a
simple bleaching
procedure will
eventually be needed
to brighten a smile.
But if you have
stained, chipped,
decayed, misshapen
or misaligned teeth,
a more comprehensive
restorative plan
might be necessary
to help you achieve
the smile that
you’ve always
wanted. A
smile makeover can
change a crooked,
crowded, gapped,
chipped or stained
smile into an
aesthetic,
breathtaking smile.
Each individual case
is different,
depending upon the
circumstances.
We are committed to
making sure that
your results are
tailored made to fit
your specific needs,
and that your
results are both
natural and
functional.
Techniques such as
bleaching, porcelain
veneers, porcelain
crowns and bridges,
implants, and
orthodontics can all
be utilized to
obtain your desired
results. A detailed
examination at our
office will allow us
to provide you with
individualized
treatment options to
help determine which
treatment option is
best for you.
If you love your
smile, you’ll be
more likely to share
it. A great
smile can be
contagious!
Implants
Implants are great
way to replace a
missing tooth or to
anchor a complete or
partial denture. An
implant is a
titanium screw that
is placed into the
jaw, just like the
root of a tooth.
This implant can
then be used as the
base for a single
(or multiple) tooth
replacement, or it
can be used in a
variety of ways to
help hold a complete
or partial denture
in place. We offer
many implant
treatment options.
If you are missing
one tooth, or
multiple teeth, or
have a complete or
partial denture, you
might benefit from
the advantages of
dental implants. We
are specially
trained and have
many years of
experience in
restoring smiles
with dental
implants. Often
with people who are
missing one or
several teeth, there
may be multiple
treatment
alternatives. We
will be happy to
discuss all of your
treatment options so
that you can pick
the best solution
for your specific
situation.
Dentures
(Traditional and
Implant Retained)
Dentures are
removable
replacement teeth.
They can be made out
of several
materials.
These restorations
are custom designed
to fit your mouth.
We always perform a
cosmetic 'try-in'
visit so that you
can see the
restoration before
it is finished. You
can input into
building your smile
so that it closely
replicates your own
previous natural
smile, or you can
help us make the
smile that you have
always wanted!.
We make several
different types of
traditional
dentures, as well as
implant retained
dentures. Implant
retained dentures
can be made
using several
different implant
techniques, which
are designed to help
anchor the denture
in place. Even
if you have been
missing your natural
teeth for a long
time, you may still
be a good candidate
for implant retained
dentures. Implant
retained dentures
are actually a great
solution for people
who have old
ill-fitting
dentures.
If you are
considering having a
denture made, we
will be happy to
discuss the many
different treatments
options available to
you and to help you
pick the option that
is best for your
unique situation.
Partial Dentures
Partial dentures are
removable
replacement teeth.
They can be made out
of several different
materials.
Advancements in
technology have made
it possible to make
the partial denture
clasps almost
invisible, so that
the partial denture
can blend seamlessly
with the adjacent
teeth. A partial
denture is custom
made to specifically
match your existing
teeth in color,
shape, and size so
that it blends with
your existing teeth
for a beautiful
natural
appearance. If you
are missing one or
more teeth, a
partial denture is
one of the many
forms of
replacements. If you
are interested in
replacing one or
more missing teeth,
our office will be
happy to explain all
of the replacement
options so that you
can pick the method
that best fits your
situation.
Orthodontics
Crowded teeth,
improperly spaced
teeth, and/or
misaligned jaws can
affect the function
of your mouth, as
well as the
cosmetics of your
smile. Orthodontic
problems can result
in chewing
difficulties, speech
difficulties and
Temperomandiblular
Joint (TMJ)
disfunctions or
pain. All of these
issues can be
corrected with
orthodontics. A
bite that does not
meet properly (a
malocclusion) can be
inherited. Some
types of maloccusion
may be acquired.
Some causes of
malocclusion include
missing or extra
teeth, crowded
teeth, or misaligned
jaws. Accidents or
developmental issues
such
as thumb sucking or
finger sucking, for
an extended time,
may contribute to
malocclusion. An
evaluation of your
bite is completed at
each routine
cleaning visit.
There are many
options available,
for both children
and adults, to
correct bite
problems and build a
beautiful,
functional smile.
Our office will be
happy to discuss
your treatment
options and help you
to select the best
option for your
specific needs.
